Affirm - the 37th Word in the "Good Words" Project

And I reaffirm my pledge to write a poem for every word in the "Good Word Project," the creation of Jo_Goldsmith11. Some hubbers like Maria (Marcoujor) have taken the baton and twirled it all around and I truly hope that others will join in also.

I should say re-affirm

That I will continue to write a poem

For every “Good Word” given us

To live and learn

And keep the promise

That I made when

Jo created the “Good Words” project

And she lit the Light 2 Love

She has taught us to enfold each word

The meaning to enrich our souls

If we practice all the “Good Words” we are told

Living by the words that we have learned

We can share them with each other

Our followers, our sisters and our brothers

There are so many definitions for the word affirm, (i.e. Sustain, Uphold, Support, Encourage, Emphasize, Reassure, Assert, Insist and Avow) that I have decided to continue the format for the 36th good word "Reflection" to cover the weeks 9-16 for the second half of a semester.

I Avow that I will continue

to practice each and every Good Word

And TRY to live by each one that I heard

We must encourage Joy

And encourage Harmony

In everything we

Do and see

We must emphasize forgiveness

And forgive others

For unkind words they speak

If forgiveness we should seek

Insist on Understanding

What the “Good Words” are all about

To make sure they are not unkind words

Before we spit them out

Support, RKAs (Random Acts of Kindness)

So that kindness will start to grow

And everyone may feel the kindness

That every kind heart should know

I confirm that I believe

In all the “Good Words” we receive

To live and practice them every day

To show my faith in every way

Reassure that we have learned compassion

Compassion practiced

And shown by our every action

Uphold our commitment

In the keeping of our word

So that folks will say

They know that this is true

Because that is the commitment that they heard
