Republican ambush - When the Left is Right and Right is Wrong. (Updated)

Updated on June 14, 2020

This was better than an interview and I didn't even have to ask questions

I was invited by one of my friends by e-mail to a card party. I accepted the invitation. There were about 14 other invited guests.

I had played cards with many of the guests before at many card games over the past few years.

We were all chatting before the games started, and two men were talking politics, which I thought was odd, as I had never heard either talk politics before.

I don't know for sure but, I think I was supposed to overhear their conversation, but with the chatter going on all around us, I was unable to hear everything clearly except for a few occasional words or sentences, but I got the crux of their chatter.

I know that most of the guests are republican and, since I vote for the person not the party, I made no comment, I just made mental notes to research the following statements, when I came home, because they were obviously not very well informed in anything political.

TENSION

Break time

We played cards, laughed and joked with each other, then had a refreshment break in the middle of the card game. As each person got out of the game and, the two tables were combined, the ones who were out of the game gathered in the kitchen laughing and joking.

When I was out of the card game, I joined the other guests who were also out.

One man came in to join us. And the conversation went something like this:

1st. man said "Did you hear about Al Gore?" He just made a BILLION dollars.

One woman said "yes and would you believe the media did not even cover this."

My thought were, then how would the two of you know about it, if it were not in the news? But I did not say anything about what I was thinking.

Since I had not heard anything about Al Gore, I ask, what happened to him?

The man told me. He sold his cable network to Al Jazeera, which is run by al Queda for 1.2 BILLION dollars.

Current TV station Sold to Joel Hyatt

I couldn't wait to get home and research this information.

This is what I found:

Current TV, founded in 2005 by former Vice President Gore.

Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, is expected to post $114 Million (not Billion as the man said) in revenue in 2013, according to research firm SNL Kagan. The firm pegged the network's cash flow at nearly $24 million a year.

Al Jazeera English News

Al Jazeera English News : Per Wikipedia:

"In the 2000s, the network was praised by the Index on Censorship for circumventing contributing to the free exchange of information in the Arab world, and by the Webby Awards, who nominated it as one of the five best news web sites, along with BBC News, National Geographic and The Smoking Gun. It was also voted by grandchannel.com readers as the fifth most influential global brand behind Apple, Google, Ikea and Starbucks. In 2011, Salon.com said Al Jazeera's coverage of the 2011 coverage of the 2011 Egyptian protests was superior to that of the American news media, while U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton also opined that the network's news coverage was more informative, and less opinion-driven than American journalism." _____ Source: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Poetic Justice Post in the New York Daily News.___"Start by lynching all the ignorant people who post below then yourself. Al Jazeera English has been shown in Washington D.C. area for many years then on Time Warner in NYC since latter 2011. They won a peabody award and other awards for journalism. The American media is more biased. Even some of you right-wingers love to say how biased MSNBC, the NY Times and even this newspaper is. Compared to Al Jazeera English to these other outfits AJ English is angelic."

Back to the Ambush. Who does this woman think won the popular vote?

One woman: Said The Electoral College needs to be changed. If it were not for the Electoral College Obama would not be president. He could not have won on the popular vote.

Popular Votes

When I researched, who won the popular vote 2012? As of Noon on Friday, with nearly all votes in, Obama assuredly will win the popular vote, leading Romney by a count of 61,173,739 or 50.5% to Mr. romney's 58,167,260 or 48%.

Obama Care, i.e. The Affordable Care Act

One woman said "(SIC) I know they stuffed the ballot boxes, it is an Obamanation!" She went on to say the company she works for just dropped some of their insurance coverage and several people who had gone to the doctor recently had to pay for the office visit, and when they complained to her about it, she said "don't blame me, (paraphrased) I didn't vote for Obama Care."

FACT: You can't stuff Ballot boxes where there were no Ballot boxes, only electronic voting machines!

Stuff this in your ballad box.

The Affordable Care Act became law 3/23/2010

"The Affordable Care Act Becomes Law 3/23,2010

"Coming in 2013: The Health Insurance Marketplace, Individuals and small business can buy affordable and qualified health benefit plans in this new transparent and competitive insurance marketplace.Open enrollment begins October 1, 2013."

"Coming in 2014: Tax Credits for Families

Tax credits to help the Middle class afford insurance will become available for those with income between100% and 400% of the poverty line who are not eligible for the other affordable coverage." ____ Source: U.S. Department of Health & Human Services

If 'Obama Care' does not begin enrollment until October 1, 2013. Nine months before, why would her company take their health insurance away, right now?

Edward Hospital

Then one person said, "I can't wait till the woman who is renting and living in my mother's house goes to Edward Hospital, where she wants to go for an operation she needs and, she will find out that Edward Hospital does not take Medicare patients."

FACT: Calling Edward Hospital: Questions about their financial assistance or uninsured discount can be directed to their Patient Accounts Department at (630) 527-3100 (opt 6.)

I called Edward Hospital 1/21/2013 I spoke with Zachary who said they take Medicare and Medicaid, and have no plans to drop either!!!

Like talking to a rock

By this time, I realize this crew was ganging up on me trying to browbeat me into believing the fictional garbage they were putting out.

But, I also realize that if these republicans can't read the calendar, and can't understand that $114 MILLION, is a long way from 1.2 BILLION, then talking to them about politics would be like talking to a rock, in fact talking to a rock would make more sense. As hard as it may be.

Trying to pass fiction for fact

I just wish people would get their facts straight, before they choke on shoe leather. Or give themselves foot in mouth disease.

Do you think I will be invited back?
