Judy Lynn Teague - I Am Searching for You (Update)

It hurts so much when you see that someone is searching for their Mother and don't know where they are or what to do. So when I saw this posted by Georgette Teague/Tonya Trimble I decided to write a poem to help Georgette find her birthmother.

Most bonds between a mother and her child cannot be broken

When my need to find you was awaken

And, there are words that were left unsaid

Words to me that were never spoken

I am searching for you, Mom! I really feel I should,

And I wonder, did you ever wonder if I would?

And now you must surely know

I would have found you long ago if I could

All the detectives and the agencies

Never brought me a clue

They have not come through for me

In my search for finding you

Please help me mom, tell me what I must do

In helping me to find my way, when I don't have one little clue

Except in 1974 at the end of May when they must have handed me to you

Georgette Eloise was my given name

Did you name me for a relative, and are our name is the same?

Although I do not know the circumstance that ripped us two apart

That circumstance or happenstance could not rip you from my heart.

I think about you almost all the time, I want my message to impart

When I was old enough I knew my search for you would start

I am searching for you, Mom, or have you already heard?

From a friend of yours or by a little bird

And so I ask my friends on FaceBook to help me spread the word

A thought of never finding you would really be absurd

Have you ever heard a heart break?

And, wondered what it was breaking for

That was mine; you could hear it as it tore

I must find you, so I am searching even more

I searched and searched and have not found a clue

Until I have exhausted every avenue

I have never given up my search in hopes of finding you

So I turned to friends on Face Book, I don't know what else to do

Do you keep looking back, or have you left the past behind?

I will continue searching and hope that you don't mind

I have so often thought what I will do

If I should find, you and don't want to see me too

Although I don't want to be a bother

I just want to know if you look like me or if I look like you

What color are your eyes? Are they the same as mine?

Or would mine cause you to recall another place and time?

I don't know if you are homeless and hungry, or if you are sad and blue

Did you ever wonder if I wondered about you?

Have you ever wondered what became of me?

So...help me Mom, tell me what to do

I am searching for you, Mom, and I need a place to start

So I can share the feeling that are right here is in my heart

Do I have a sister or brother, at least just one or maybe two?

If so, do they know ask about me and wonder what I do?

And so this Christmas Mom, I searching near and far

In every train, plane and car

So we can celebrate together

When we both wish upon a Star.
